Join us this Friday night November 30th in the Jr. High room for a special event! We'll be having a 70's themed AUDIENCE OF ONE! It's a groovy talent show where everyone will be sharing special songs, dances, poems and more...for ONE audience memeber ----> JESUS.

  • Dress to impress in your best 70's attire: bell bottom pants, flower patterns, plaid shirts, headbands and more.
  • Please bring a dish to share as this will also be a potluck event! We need main dishes, side dishes, desserts and drinks!

Discipleship: Nov 28th {1 Thessalonians 5}

We gathered last night for a chilly evening of fellowship and Bible study. We had a great turn out in the cold! The chapter we studied was 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 and we finished up the book as we closed out this semester of small groups. We studied many verbs {action words} that are given as instructions by Paul to the church in Thessalonica. Look up the passage and check them out. Paul's letter to the church gave a warning to have an awareness of evil, and an alertness and urgency for the Lord's coming!

***Next week {12/5} we will work on each developing short devotionals that we can keep on hand to use any time we're asked to share or want to do a study with a friend.

See you Friday for AUDIENCE OF ONCE - 70'S EDITION!

Pastor Dennis using hand motions to explain a detailed story to one of the guys.
We're glad to have Pastor Dennis back from his trip to the Philippines!

Josh and Anthony led worship for us. Blessed be YOUR name!

Discipleship THIS WEEK 11/28! (WED) 7pm

Hi Friends~ Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, time with loved ones, time with the Lord and time to express your gratitude to Him. We took a break last Friday night from meeting, but are resuming this WEDNESDAY 11/28 at 7pm in Children's classroom A for Dude's Discipleship + Ladies of the King Discipleship {small groups}. Come join us for food, potluck style, worship, hearing from D & Xu about God's Word and discussion.

We mentioned earlier that Discipleship wasn't resuming until Dec, but OOPS! we were mistaken. How cool is it that we still have a meeting in November to be encouraged and uplifted in Christ. See you all Wed at 7pm.

***Don't forget to sign up for our AUDIENCE OF ONE event this Friday night 11/30 at 7pm. It's our 70's themed talent show, where we display our giftings for Jesus, our audience of ONE. Be a part of our event with a song, dance, poem, or any expression of creativity to praise God. Or, come and enjoy the show dressed in your BEST 70's gear!

Thankful for the the Lord and friends!

Wednesday night service was beautiful! We sang the song "Blessed be Your Name" and other songs of thanks to Jesus. We took communion and Pastor Steve shared a heart tugging message about a thankful heart, life and spirit. Then we headed to Carrows to grub. We had a sweet waitress and enjoyed hanging out. Thankful for Jesus and friendships!

Let's be THANKFUL! Thanksgiving Service & Fellowship

Join the Bridge {Young adult ministry} as we celebrate a season of THANKSGIVING! We will be attending the evening service this WEDNESDAY, November 21st at 7:30pm. Meet us in the center left section as we partake in communion, worship and hearing God's word.

Hang around after service!! We will be heading over to Carrows Restaurant in Gardena to have our own we-dont-have-to-cook version of a Thanksgiving feast! Service will be about an hour, and dinner will start at 9pm. See you there, and bring a friend!

Psalm 95

1 Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
3 For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods.
4 He holds in his hands the depths of the earth
and the mightiest mountains.
5 The sea belongs to him, for he made it.
His hands formed the dry land, too.
6 Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,
7 for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
the flock under his care.

Welcome back team PI!

Friday Night: Caught Doing Good

We had a fabulous night of worship and studying God's Word!

Queena answered the questions: Can predestination AND free will exist? And the question - why do people backslide and fall away from God?

Bobby shared on Philippians 1:27, with the theme of doing good. He shared about our conduct and what a powerful message we send in how we live our lives and talk and act with those around us. He encouraged us to display the fruit of the spirit (love, patience, faithfulness) and above all, goodness!

It was a blessed night and we prayed for the team in the Philippines who are returning Sunday evening. God is good, all the time!

THANKSGIVING Service & Dinner 11/21 {Wed}

Image from: Priority Ministries

Hello friends! Next week is Thanksgiving, let our hearts and lives overflow with things we are thankful for. Did you know, that your entire perspective can shift if you write down each day just THREE things you are thankful for. How about FIVE things? God has provided for us, His love is abundant in our lives and He is ever present in our days.

***We will celebrate Thanksgiving this year by going to the mid-week service that is on WEDNESDAY evening in the MAIN SANCTUARY at 7:30pm. We will all sit together on the left center pews.

***After service, we will head over to Carrows for a feast! It'll be a delicious dinner that will warm our bellies and our hearts. See you there! Please sign up this Friday night so we can count you in!

Friday Night: Caught doing GOOD

We are keeping Pastor Dennis and the team that is in the Philippines in prayer! We ask that you pray specifically for their health as at least half of the team has colds! But, we trust in our Lord Jesus Christ to heal each team member, sustain their bodies and replenish their energy as they still have a few more days. They will be returning Sunday evening. Keep them in prayer as they minister the good news of Jesus to the adults and children there.

Join us this Friday night as we have a guest speaker share from Philippians 1:27, about Godly conduct. It's essential that we know as followers of Jesus how our words and actions impact those around us and can reflect Christ. We want to be caught doing the Lord's work, His way, and giving Him all the glory.

We meet at 7:30pm in the Jr. High room - bring a friend!

Friday Night: Being on Mission

Anthony Martinez & Co. Brought down the house with some amazing worship last night. Stacie addressed two questions asked by an attendee as part of our 'have you ever wondered?' set: why are there so many versions of the Bible and what's the best one?

She shared from multiple sources including gotquestions.org, allabouttruth.org and bible gateway.com ! Stacie explained how some versions (KJV,NKJV and NASB) are translated to be word for word and others (NIV) are translated to be thought by thought. There are also some that are paraphrased: The Message and The Living Bible.

Anthony Madlangbayan then shared a convicting message about the Great Commission (not the great suggestion!) He shared from Matthew 28:19-20 about being on mission right where we are at work, school and in our homes. He shared about being 'saved to serve' and having an urgency to share the cure for eternal damnation. If we have the cure- let's pass it along! It was truly a blessed night!

Friday Night Meeting: BEING ON MISSION

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Yesterday, we sent off a team to the Philippines (including Pastor Dennis!) to share the love of Jesus. But what about for those of us who are here? Do we have to go across the country to be effective witnesses of the Gospel? How can we make an impact right where we are?

Come out tonight to hear a special guest speaker share about BEING ON MISSION! Learn about being available to speak about God and share His love at school, work and in your family.

The Bible give us a command. Let's learn how to OBEY and encourage one another to make a difference. If you'd like to learn more about your purpose in life and your calling in Christ, come to our young adult meeting tonight. We meet in the Jr. High room at 7:30pm!

Wednesday, Nov 7th Events!

This Wednesday, we have two awesome things going on! Come join us as we share the love of Jesus with one another.

First, our college Pastor Dennis Mascardo is leading a team to the Philippines from the 4th-18th of this month. There are 17 members going, some of which are from our own young adult group! We will be meeting at 4:30pm in the Jr. High room to send them off with a delicious dinner to-go and cover them in prayer. They will fly out of LAX {Bradley terminal} Wed evening and head to PI to partner with Youth With A Mission, and the local churches. Their primary goal is to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the adults and children in PI.

If you are available to bring food to the church for the PI send off, please let us know. Also, if you are free to give a ride to the airport at 5pm, we will also be driving there to send the team off. Let's come together in support to pray for those who GO! knowing that God will use them in great ways these next few weeks.
Secondly, we have our Dudes discipleship and Daughter's of the King meeting at 7pm. This is a time of small groups, where we split up guys/girls to study God's Word. We are currently going through 1 Thessalonians, and our theme is "raising the bar". The young adult ministry recognizes the importance of digging deeper into God's Word and interacting with His scriptures and Truths. Bring a dish to share, as we always start off the night with a yummy potluck! Please come out, you will be blessed beyond measure.

Tuesday, Nov 6th. DID YOU VOTE?!!

Election Day! Be encouraged to go and vote today! Pray up before and after as we know that the battles we war are in the Spiritual realms {Eph 6}. May God be glorified through who is elected, how we conduct ourselves when we share our opinions, and how we stand for Jesus!

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth.”
- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

Eyes Wiiiddee OPEN!

We heard two thought-provoking messages last night!
Cindy answered a good question about relationships: While the Bible tells Christians not to be yoked with unbelievers, it’s also possible to be unequally yoked with a fellow believer.
Pastor Dennis broke down a passage in 2 Kings 6: 8-23 about God’s prophet, Elisha, and his servant being attacked by their enemies. When the army invaded their city, Elisha’s servant panicked when he “saw” that they were outnumbered. But Elisha prayed that his servant’s eyes would be OPENED to see beyond the physical. In reality, “hills full of horses and chariots of fire” surrounded their enemies! So operating by faith, they captured the enemy and dealt with them in the Spirit, feeding and clothing them so that “burning coals” would be heaped upon their heads (Proverbs 25: 21-22).

Key takeaways were “seeing” beyond our circumstances by looking to the Truth, remembering God’s promised protection when facing enemies in the spirit and in the flesh. The challenge:  asking God to see what is real, remain confident in the Lord’s promises, and operate in the Spirit (act with kindness/mercy) when the Lord places the enemy at our feet.
