Girl's Beauty Night !!

We had a lovely time at Mercedes' house getting pampered and learning the freshest makeup tips! Josie, our Makeup Artist, did Amanda, Queena, & Laura's makeup. While she applied the makeup, she explained how to apply it & gave us helpful tips on how to do it at home. Afterwards, the girls had their photos taken by a professional photographer. We had delicious Italian food, rascales chicken salad, garlic bread, and the hit of the night, Haitian coffee (brought by Mercedes, from the Haiti mission trip). Thanks Mercedes, for hosting such a beautiful dinner and a wonderful beauty night!

JESUS: A Servant with Crazy LOVE!!!

Friday night, we were treated to a surprise presentation! Special guest speaker and longtime Bridge member, Janira, shared her testimony about serving in the Peace Core for two years.
Then we dove into the night's bible study, reading from John chapter 13 about Jesus' servant hood on earth. The night before he died, Jesus conveyed his love for all mankind through the simple gesture of washing his disciples' feet. In doing this, we see:

~ His love: He washed everyone's feet, including Judas Iscariot, who would betray Jesus the same night.

~His Humility: As Almighty God, he had compassion enough to become human and stand in as the perfect sacrifice to cleanse all man's sins.

~ His example: Jesus gave this command, "If I then, you Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet" (John 13:14). Jesus forgave, prayed for, and loved sinful people who rejected him. Yet he died for the same people, cleansing their hearts forever from sin.

In the same way, we must also be willing to lay down our lives, our preferences, and comforts, get down on two knees, and love others who might not appreciate it or understand the gesture. That's what a servant does. That's what Jesus did.

"This is my command: Love each other."
(John 15:17)

Welcome Back Janira!!

JESUS: Servant of All

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but TO serve, and to give His life a ransom for many" Mark 10:45

This month we've been studying the character of Jesus and answering the question, "Who is JESUS to you?" Each of us call Him our Lord, Provider, Savior, Best Friend, Healer and so much more. Tonight we'll be looking at Jesus, the SERVANT of all. Jesus gave us the greatest example of what it meant to be a servant by washing His disciple's feet. This was a menial task that was performed by the servants of the home. Jesus humbled Himself in order to exemplify to us what we are to do for one another. Join us as we study Jesus, the Servant of all.

Jr. High Room @ 7:30pm.

>>>POTLUCK TONIGHT<<<
Immediately following the Bible study, we will have a time of food and fellowship. Please bring a main dish, side dish or dessert to share with the Bridge. Sharing is caring.

>>>EASTER OUTREACH<<<<
Join us tomorrow morning, Sat 3/23 as we pass out Easter service fliers in the local community. Meet at 11:30am in the PRAYER room. See you there!

2 Thess 2:5-12

Tonight was a blessed night! Bobby B. came as a guest speaker for the dudes. He shared on 'Being Caught Up'. For the ladies, Mercedes shared a devotional on 'Yielding to the Holy Spirit'. It was a lovely night as each small group also discussed methods and tips of writing a devotional. Lord willing, we will get to share our personal devotionals next meeting!

Group shot, take 1!

Home Sweet Home

After an inspiring Sunday service this morning, the everyone headed home. The hotel was a serene campus, which provided a restful and blessed weekend. We made new friends, received encouragement and enjoyed being away from our daily routines. Best of all though, was our individual time spent with the Lord, hearing His voice and responding to His call.

J E S U S // John 6:68

It was a worshipful night as the remaining Bridge members gave thanks to the Lord Friday evening. Special guest, Mark Rizkalla, continued the "Who is Jesus?" series, covering several points about who the Bible says He is, who the disciples declared He was, and who Jesus himself claimed to be. It was a blessed night of in depth studying and fellowship.
Praise the Lord !!

An awesome time resting with the Lord!

We took time AWAY this past weekend to make ourselves available to hear from GOD. It was a blessed week, full of new friendships, quiet moments with Jesus, powerful worship sessions and God's creation at our feet.

The key theme was COME AWAY with an emphasis on finding alone time with God. A guest speaker, Pastor Andrew shared a message titled: Away to Arabia, which gave the account of Paul [Galatians 1:17] who went AWAY to Arabia, for his time with the Lord. During that time, Paul heard God's voice and received concrete confirmation on what to do next. We spent an hour Saturday morning in our own 'Arabia.'

Pastor Wilfredo led worship at his church in Ventura!

Come Tonight: Friday Night Meeting!

Happy Friday! Hope you had a blessed week and had the opportunity to SEEK God's face and HEAR his voice. Join us tonight as we have a special guest speaker share God's Word with us. We will have worship, a message and a time of prayer and fellowship.

Meet us in the Jr. High room at 7:30pm!

{Acts 4:12}
"There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

This week: 3/12/13

Hope each of you are having a blessed week. Here's a very inspiring verse for you to encourage you mid-week:

"Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous" [Romans 5:19]

This week we don't have a WEDNESDAY meeting, but we ARE meeting this FRIDAY. Some of The Bridge members will be at our Retreat: Come Away, but for those who are not attending, we will have a guest speaker FRIDAY night. Meet at the Jr. High room at 7:30pm for a night of worship, a message from the Lord and great fellowship.

God bless and see you soon! Invite a friend out to The Bridge!

***For those of you attending the retreat, Pastor Dennis sent out an email with details and the weekend agenda, check your email and make sure you've received it! ***

Jesus: Lord of Heaven, Earth, and ... my Life!

Last Friday's bible study was deep and meaningful, as Pastor D taught about the Sovereignty of Jesus Christ. The bible reiterates time and time again that "Jesus is Lord" (Romans 10:9). He is seated with authority in heaven (Colossians 3:1), has greater authority on earth (Luke 8:24), and has authority over our lives (Luke 9:23).

Wait...authority over our lives!?

Yes! As servants of the Lord, we must have an attitude of obedience, trust, and surrender. If He is truly the Lord of our lives, we will allow Christ to take control of every thought, every step, and every decision we make. A willing bond servant trusts his Master and obeys Him even when it doesn't make sense. So to trust and obey, we need to know more about the One we serve and learn to surrender everything to Him in the process. The ultimate goal of our lives, is for Jesus to be the center of it all.

Friday 3/8 Come Join Us!

FRIDAY NIGHT STUDY: FRIDAY, March 8th (7:30pm Jr. High Room)

This month we’ll be taking a look at JESUS and answering the question WHO is Jesus to you? Each of us call Him our God, Provider, Best Friend, Healer, and so much more.

Last week, we took a look at Jesus being our Savior, this Friday night we’ll be looking at Jesus as our Lord, the One we obey. Often times, we are challenged by the circumstances in our lives and we find it difficult to obey and serve God. And as a result we attempt to please ourselves and others, but the outcome is always unfavorable.
Come out and learn how to look to Jesus, Lord of Heaven, Earth and my life.

WED: Pause Night of Worship & Prayer

Hello Friends!

This Wednesday, March 6th we are taking a moment out of our busy weed to PAUSE. To WORSHIP and to PRAY. How cool is that for a mid-week break? Come join us to be refreshed.

We normally meet for Discipleship small groups, but this week we'll be meeting in the MAIN SANCTUARY at 7pm. Look for us on the LEFT side of the sanctuary (when you walk in and face the stage). We will be joining Pastor Kevin for PAUSE NIGHT of worship.

We will worship with the congregation from 7pm till about 8:30pm and then head over to classroom 3A for prayer. You can join us for both or meet up with us for prayer!

"Sing to the Lord,
For He has done excellent things;
This is known in all the earth" - Isaiah 12:5

J E S U S // Luke 19:10

Pastor D shared on an excellent topic: JESUS! We learned that Jesus saves us from 3 things - sin, death and wrath. Jesus' mission statement can be found in Luke 19:10 "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

After the message we had a time of communion and worship. Leo and Jared gave a quick reflection on the symbolism of the bread and juice and how they represent Christ's sacrifice and love.
