Backyard Missions

Saturday morning the Backyard Missions team cleaned up the community near Normandale Park. We then headed to Hope St. In L. A. For an outreach to the homeless. It was a hot day, but The Lord sustained us and we were so, so blessed!

Friday Night!

We had a nice time in the Kid's Sanctuary last night. Jose Sanchez shared with us about being a true disciple of Jesus as outlines in Luke 14:25-35

Discipleship Wednesday Night!

We had an excellent small group night! We were encouraged to STAND FIRM in our faith and answered questions to better understand our Salvation in Jesus Christ!

Believers Should Stand Firm

13 As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first[a] to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth. 14 He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.

16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, 17 comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.

Steph is leading a nice prayer when I captured this pic. Don't worry, everyone isn't asleep! Haha.

Go Workshop!!!

Last Friday night we had a great time at the GO WORKSHOP. There were two panels, or "teams" that acted out example situations we may find ourselves in, when it comes to sharing about Jesus.

After the training, we split into two teams. One team went to Redondo Beach Pier to evangelize and another team went to the Pike in Long Beach.  We heard encouraging stories of encounters with people, young and old who were touched and encouraged by Jesus. Some folks were challenged, or challenging, but in the end God was glorified. Some even received prayer or accepted Jesus into their hearts. We know that even if we don't see the immediate results, we go out in obedience to God's commands.

Praise God!

See you this Friday for our meeting at 7:30pm in the Jr. High room!

GO WORKSHOP! "Prepare to Share"

Hi everyone! You are invited to a SPECIAL event this Friday night, April 5th!

We will be attending the GO WORKSHOP at 7pm in the Kid's Sanctuary. This will be an opportunity to learn ways to share about Jesus, answer tough questions and be prepared with supporting scriptures. If you're ready to share the Gospel and partake in the Great Commission, the come out!

The theme for the evening is "Prepare to Share" from the verse: 1 Peter 3:15

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear"

Immediately following the workshop, we  will practice what we've learned by sharing the Gospel in the community. It'll be a blessed evening. Hope to see you there!

Discipleship Groups: Devo Night

We had a great potluck last night. But more excitingly, a time to share devotionals! One or two people from each small group shared a devotional that he/she had prepared on 2 Thessalonians.

It was a time of great encouragement and a chance to support one another. We were also challenged by Pastor Dennis to find answers to tough questions that people may ask us regarding our faith!

See you Friday night!
