Our next upcoming event is: AUDIENCE OF ONE this Friday night! This is an opportunity to encourage the "body" of Christ: the ladies and gentlemen that believe in Jesus Christ and strive to live for Him.

The heart behind this event is to glorify God and respond to Him in our lives, through music, dramas, dance, poetry, and scripture readings. We want to be sure that every performance is aimed at glorifying Him and uplifting one another. Please email Pastor Dennis if you are interested in sharing a talent on Friday.

The Cafe will be open during breaks for food, drinks and snacks! See you there! ***The Cornerstone Cafe is located near the church Bookstore***

{Discipleship Devotionals}

It's hard to believe that another semester has gone by so quickly! We are reminded of God's faithfulness amidst the changes in seasons in our lives. Last night we gathered with the dudes for discipleship along with the daughter's of the King! We had a gourmet potluck - burgers, sandwiches, Rascals salad, Chinese food and more.

We had a sweet time of worship before and after our meeting. The guys and girls met separately and had the opportunity to share short devotionals within their small groups. We encouraged each person to prepare a short devotional on anything in God's Word that He had been speaking to him/her. It was a night of encouragement, prayer and fellowship!

GOD is > Disease and Death

Friday we closed out our recent GOD IS GREATER THAN series! Pastor D shared a message about God being the Great Healer and how He is more powerful than our pain, than disease and even death.

Two examples of God's healing were shared from Mark 5:21-43. We learned about God's healing touch on the woman with the issue of blood and the daughter of the synagogue rulers, Jairus.

It was an encouraging night, and we had a chance to respond to The Lord with worship music and prayer. We also ended the evening with an awesome potluck- thanks to everyone who brought food to share!

No Time to Waste! 2 Thess 3:6-18

On the last day of our study in 2 Thessalonians, we concluded Discipleship by answering the last two Salvation questions about repentance. To repent is to change one's mind, recognizing we are sinners, and in response, God draws us to salvation by his grace and the work of the Holy Spirit !

Xu shared an encouraging word about idleness and the importance of recognizing how we spend our idle time. Pastor Dennis spoke about laziness, sin, and how to avoid them both.

It was an awesome and emotional time of worship, fellowship, and prayer. As we are finishing off this semester, we have been filled abundantly with the knowledge of Jesus Christ and blessed by the faithfulness of our brothers and sisters. We can't wait to grow in our spiritual walk with you next semester! Until then, have a blessed and active summer !

GOD is > than .....the devil

We know that if God is on our side... there is an enemy. So the question is: who IS our enemy?

Last friday night, we studied Mark chapter 5 and Jesus' encounter with a man possesed by demons.
From the world's point of view, Satan is nothing more than a little man with horns, a spear, and red tights. But the bible says that "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8)
However, we little christians can take heart! Jesus Christ has already overcome the world and the one who is the ruler of this world. And since, by faith, we are not of this world, we can also overcome the works of the enemy. The devil is strong, but through Jesus' example, we can fight and resist aginst his schemes.

In case you don't believe me...

Jesus > demons
When Jesus stepped from the boat, the man with the legion of demons ran to him, fell at his feet and worshipped. - Mark 5:6

Jesus > satan
Jesus has all the power in the universe. "I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades" - Revelations 1:18

Jesus/Christians = WIN
In the end, Satan loses "He will be thrown into the lake of burning sulfur where the beast and the false prophet will be thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever" - Revelations 20:10

Satan may have his way today, but his reign won't last forever. With the armor of God,the Word of God, and consistent prayer, christians can overcome every situation by the blood of Jesus Christ and by believing on His word. It is written: "He who stands firm till the end will be saved." - Matthew 24:13

GOD is > than...... Your storm

Fellowship was awesome last Friday! There were new and familiar faces that night who joined us for a sweet time of prayer and worship. Pastor D gave an interesting message about how to handle trials in our lives.
In life, we can encounter crazy storms or walk through lonely deserts. They may be a test sent to build godly character... other times they are the result of our own disobedience. But whatever type of storm is raging.. Jesus shows us three things to remember:

1.His Simple Promises
When we read the promises over and over and believe them, nothing can move us. Promises found in Joshua 1:5, Philippians 4:13, or Psalms 55:22 are there for your heart to hold onto whenever loneliness, weakness, or stress creep in. His promises give us peace inside and a firm foundation against tough situations.

2. The Peace of God
Here is a picture of peace: Jesus in the back of the boat, sleeping on a cushion. Nothing moved him! After all, what does the Creator have to fear from the created? But the Lord has sympathy for us. The human side of Jesus responded, waking to the disciples' cry, and quickly came to the rescue (Psalms 18 illustrates this perfectly). The moment we cry out, He's up and will not delay in showing us compassion (Isaiah 30:18-19).

3. The Presence of God
Perhaps you've noticed in your Christian walk, that the presence of God stills. His presence stills our souls, and calms the storms around us. When Jesus approached the waves, He commanded them "Quiet! Be still!" and the waves had to be still. Maybe the storms have not stopped raging on the outside (yet), but on the inside, there is a calm that only Jesus can provide when you call on His name and hold tight to His promises.

It was so good seeing the Bridge that night! Hope to see you next time, have a blessed week!

Prayer! 2 Thess 3:1-5

Last night's Discipleship meeting was very encouraging! We had a sweet, sweet time of worship before and after our group time.

Jared shared with the guys on 2 Thess 3:1-5 and Cindy shared with the ladies. We were encouraged to stand fast in prayer, and to talk to God frequently. Cindy shared that prayer provides protection, confidence, assurance, and displays God's faithfulness. Prayer can be done outloud, on the spot, silently while driving, and in many other forms. What a beautiful reminder of the power of prayer!

We also had two groups answer specific questions about Salvation: What is Salvation? Why is it important to know? Is water baptism required for Salvation? These are foundational aspects of our faith that we should practice and know the answers to! We gained some insightful and practical scriptures that we could share with others.
