Friday Night Bridge Recap

Last week we learned about the “Cause of Christ”—to seek, to save, & to serve (Luke 19:10 & Mark 10:45).  We also learned that we are the “fragrance of Christ”.
“For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.”  2 Corinthians 2:15
What kind of aroma are you giving off?  Are we a sweet smell , a foul odor, or a “watered down scent” to those who don’t know Jesus?
Our brother, Jared, exhorted us to return to our first love & follow God with our whole heart.

Check out some picture from our Fourth Friday fellowship “fiesta” (potluck)—we had Mexican food!  YUM!

Our Bridge Leaders Stacie & Anthony with new baby Lenya!  Wecome back!

Friday Night Live Recap & What's going on TONIGHT!

Last Week at the Bridge...
We had the chance to hear from Xu Mascardo (Pastor D’s wife!) share a little bit about herself and her heart for the Bridge Ministry.

Then, we continued our series on The Calling and took a look at The Great Commission—our Mission from Jesus.  Pastor D showed us that God’s commission is directed personally to each one of us as Christians.

We were challenged to look at our lives and ask: “Am I doing these things?”  Am I GOING?  Am I MAKING DISCIPLES?  Am I obedient to the call of BAPTISIM?  AM I committed to teaching them to OBSERVE all that Jesus has commanded?   We are called to LIVE IT OUT!

JOIN US TONIGHT @ 7:30 pm back in the JR HIGH ROOM for a time of fellowship, teaching, and a potluck dinner!
Tonight we’ll take a look at the “Cause of Christ”. We’ll examine the purpose of Jesus while He was on earth and the relevance that has for us as believers.

TONIGHT is also Fourth Friday Fellowship Potluck!  The theme is Mexican!  (yum!)  So bring your favorite Mexican dish to share!  Let us know what you're bringing so we don't all bring chips & salsa!

See you there!

Tonight at the Bridge

Just a reminder that tonight we will be meeting for “Time Out: Bridge Prayer” at 6:30 pm at the Kid’s Welcome Center.

Following that, we will have our Friday night meeting at 7:30 pm in the Jr. High Room  where we’ll dive into part 3 of our series: “The Calling”, which will help us to discover our real purpose in life & see God’s perfect plan in our life.
Tonight we’ll take a look at Matthew 28—The Great Commission & learn some practical ways to live it out!
See you tonight!

Bridge Discipleship Recap

This past Wednesday we had our first Bridge discipleship meeting of the year!
(Sorry not too many pictures from the night…but imagine a three-foot-long burrito, a King’s Hawaiian paradise cake, lots of other yummy food!  Plus all the good stuff: worship, fellowship & diving into the Word!)

We started in the book of Ephesians, and dove into the first six verses. Who knew how packed six verse could be! We learned that in Jesus we are chosen, adopted, predestined, and called to be holy!

Our memory verse for this week is Ephesians 1:4.  Look it up and learn it along with us!  J

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!” Psalm 133:1

Friday Night at the Bridge: The Calling (part 2)

This past Friday at the Bridge we continued part 2 of our series on our calling.  Pastor D continued last weeks message from Isaiah 6:1-8 and we had a sweet time of worshipping Jesus together!

Isaiah was a prophet of God and we see him serving God thoughout the first five books of Isaiah.  Yet, it is not until chapter six where he finds himself ruined in the presence of God (Isaiah 6:5). He is faced with the holiness of God and his own sin.

We were challenged to examine our lives, get in the presence of God & and ask ourselves some challenging questions. What in my life do I put ahead of God? Am I serving God or people? Why do I do what I do?

After being in God's presence Isaiah is restored and ready to answer the call.
"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And whom will go for Us?"  Then I said, "Here am I!  Send me." (Isaiah 6:8)

May we get into the presence of the Lord and allow Him to change us, so we are ready & willing to answer when He calls!

Interested in helping out with Worship at the Bridge or at Bridge Discipleship?

If so, join us for a time of worship and prayer tomorrow night (Wednesday, January 8th) at 7pm, in Discipleship Training Center Classroom A.  If you can play a musical instrument, guitar, cajon, keyboard etc. bring it with you. We’ll worship, share scriptures, give vision, and pray together.  Let us know if you’ll be joining us!

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but to Your name give glory,
because of Your mercy, because of Your truth.
Psalm 115:1

Friday Bridge Fellowship: The Calling

This past Friday (January 3rd) was our first Bridge meeting of 2014!  We got the new year started by learning about our calling in Christ.  Pastor D taught from Isaiah 6:1-8.

Jesus knew his mission on this earth was to seek, to save, and to serve. We learned that to know our calling, we must spend time alone with The Lord, so that he can speak to us & that confession is an important first step. Just as Isaiah was undone before The Lord, we must confess our sins so that God can cleanse us.

We also heard some of the things God is doing in the life of our sister Mercedes (one of our Bridge leaders).  We had an opportunity to pray for her as she goes to serve The Lord in other areas of ministry.
We finished out the night with a time of fellowship & an impromptu worship time!  Just think, one day we will gather together and worship The Lord in heaven!

Lord, please help us to live lives worthy of the calling we have received in you. Would you search our hearts, minds, & lives that we would be holy as you are holy.

"...So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone!  Because I am an man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts."" Isaiah 6:5

Do you ever find yourself aimlessly wandering throughout your days trying to figure out what you’re supposed to do with the rest of your life?  Everyone has an opinion about how your life should look like, but the most important thing for us as believers is what does God think?  And the better question is “What does God want for my life?”.

Bridge Christmas Fellowship

On December 20th we had our annual Bridge Christmas Fellowship.  This year’s theme was “Winter Formal”  (80’s-90’s style!).  We dressed up and had a fun time of fellowship: complete Italian food potluck, white elephant gift exchange, and worshiping our Lord Jesus!

Towards the end of the night, Pastor D shared a word with us and encouraged us to fix our eyes upon Jesus as we begin the new year.  Jesus is worthy of all of our praise!
What a blessing to end out 2013 worshipping Jesus with our family in Christ!

Hope you can join us Friday January 3, 2014 @ 7:30 pm for our first Friday Bridge fellowship of the year. If you’re available join us for a time of PRAYER (6:30 pm 1st and 3rd Friday, before the Bridge).
