AUDIENCE OF ONE THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!!

Hello friends! We are having a special event this Friday night....it's called:

AUDIENCE OF ONE!

Who is our audience?!! It's G O D! He is the Person we praise, celebrate and offer up our praises to. He is the one we glorify, love, respond to and learn about.

What is it? It's where we get together to worship God and share our talents and gifts with one another. It's a night of encouragement, laughter, worship and fun. This time around, our theme is from the 60's. Yes, we know you weren't around at that time. We know you're 80's and 90's kids...but still - let's have a little fun taking it back a few decades. Do your best to dress in 60's attire. Go ahead, google it! You'll find a mixture of mod clothing (think retro, vintage), space age inspired frocks, mix matched paisley patterns, flared pants, and of course hippie, tie-dyed shirts. Ladies - think cat eye'd eye liner and hair with a big curl and headband. Impress us! Also, if you're interested in sharing something, a song, poem, dance, musical talent, etc...please email Pastor D asap. You can email thebridgeccsb@gmail.com to let him know.

When is it? See you at the church CAFE at 7:30 pm this Friday!

Faith Foundations Part 4: Sanctification

We had a great night on Friday - as we continued our Faith Foundation Series. Our guest speaker Jose broke it down for us, about SANCTIFICATION and how it follows Salvation. We learned about how Jesus was set apart and calls us to the same purpose: be set apart from the world for a holy use for HIM. Jose shared from God's Word as evidence to why we need to go through sanctification and challenged us to forgo the things of the world and run towards Christ. We are to be detached from sin (and the things our sinful nature desires) and attached to holiness (the things the Holy Spirit leads us to). We also learned 4 practical ways to be sanctified:
Read your Bible
Pray!
Worship
Lean on the Holy Spirit

Following the great message, we headed out for a night of fellowship and sushi! We had a blast drinking green tea and eating rolls and tempura! See you next Friday night for our 'AUDIENCE OF ONE' special talent show night at the cafe (60's theme attire). More details to come soon!

4th Friday Fellowship - Come Join Us!

Hello friends! Come hear God's Word this Friday night as we continue our series called Faith Foundations. Last week we learned about SALVATION and this week a special guest speaker will be sharing on SANCTIFICATION: the process of becoming pure, becoming holy. Isn't it amazing that we can freely come together on a Friday night to hear what God has for us about being HOLY.

After worship and the message we will be having a time of fellowship at the nearby sushi hot spot: Gatten Sushi in Gardena. MMMM sushi....yum!

We hope that after a busy week at work, school and in your personal lives, you take a moment to come out and hear what God has for you. Also, it'll be nice to catch up with old friends, meet new ones and share our lives together as brothers and sisters who love Jesus!

Faith Foundations Part 3: The Salvation of God

Friday night we sent off our Haiti team! Let's pray that God's work and love go forth and our team relies on God for strength and compassion for those in Haiti.

The rest of the college group met up to hear God's Word on SALVATION. Before the study, Maria and Jose shared announcements about upcoming dudes/daughter's small groups, a local park outreach and the upcoming 60's themed talent show: Audience of One. {More details coming soon}!

Anthony M. and the worship team opened up our evening with a beautiful worship set. Below is a video clip of our time, we were praising and singing our adoration to Jesus.

Hi nice to meet you, hello, hi there!
After our worship set, a second Anthony M. came up to share with us about the SALVATION of God. He led us through a study on Zacchaeus in Luke chapter 19 verses 1-10. It was an incredible time of learning about our faith, discovering the Truth about salvation and being encouraged. Zacchaeus' faith was put into action after he heard of Jesus, and ultimately he changed his lifestyle and received salvation from the Lord. Our challenge was to seek God, hear His voice and determine if we have really repented from our sins, received the saving Love of God and begun to walk a new life in Christ Jesus. We were truly blessed as he shared God's Word and broke it down for us in the simple, practical knowledge of sin, redemption, obedience and faith.

See you next week as we continue our Faith Foundations study and hear God's Word regarding: SANCTIFICATION!

Our friends in team Haiti leave Friday, August 17th from CCSB! Let's keep them in constant prayer as they venture overseas to share the love and ministry of Jesus Christ. We'll still be meeting Friday night at 7:30pm in the Jr. High center with a special guest speaker sharing on Faith Foundations Part 3: Salvation! See you there. Safe travels, team Haiti!

Faith Foundations: Part 2

All praise and glory to God for the awesome turn out tonight at The Bridge. How encouraging it was to look around the room and see it filled up, knowing that God is at work in the lives of all the young adult men and women who came out. We spent time in worship, singing praises to God that 'Jesus is Alive in Us' and rejoicing in the Truth that 'The Enemy is under Your feet"! {check out the link for the Hillsong version} God is victorious, can I get an amen?!!

Our series continued on Faith Foundations, as we took a look at how we know the BIBLE is real. Pastor D shared about how God's Word is consistent, inerrant {without error}, infallible {executes the purpose it sets out accomplish}, and inspired {God breathed, Divine writings}. We also studied the divinity and humanity of JESUS. The goal of this series is to prepare us to share our faith. We learned tonight that we can increase our faith by increasing the time we spend in God's Word.

There is so much more we covered, so much more! Come out next week as we have a guest speaker share on SALVATION! We have two helpful links for you to use as a resources to get your questions answered or to study up as you grow in the knowledge of Christ. Got Questions and Always Be Ready {Pastor Charlie Campbell}

Faith Foundations: Part 1

We started a new series Friday night called Faith Foundations. What does it cover you ask? It covers the faith essentials of Christianity (as opposed to non-essentials), absolutes from the Bible and reminds us to build a solid foundation in Jesus. Pastor Dennis shared about the wise and foolish builder from Matt 7:24-29.

We were encouraged to 'dig deep' in our faith and mature in our relationship with Jesus (Heb 5:12-14)! Pastor D quoted "It's more than just believing in God, it's standing upon the Word of God and living at your faith in God"

Beyond these essentials...
1. The Word of God
2. Jesus is God
3. The Salvation of God

We'll also be answering common questions regarding our faith. Hint: for helpful answers you can use gotquestions.org (they also have a mobile app)

See you next Friday!
