Serving Jesus with Eyes of Faith

We had a fantastic evening on Friday!

Pastor David Higa from Calvary Chapel Echo Park shared a thought provoking and challenging message with us about our faith. He expressed that, our eyes need to see Jesus, or our serving Him is in vain. That our serving Him is motivated in a response to His initiation of love. And that we are more than capable of serving or doing good things but in our flesh and apart from His work and person.

We heard about Old Testament examples of men and women of faith who looked to Jesus and allowed Him to be "the author and perfecter of our faith" {Hebrews 12:1-2}

We then, were challenged to deepen our faith and seek His face {Psalm 27:8} first and foremost. When we seek Him, we learn to know His example, and can become more like Jesus. Then, as a result we desire to serve in His following.

We also had our annual Thanksgiving celebration! Some years we go out to eat but this year we kept it simple and had a potluck! And wow! Did we have some great dishes. Thanks to everyone who brought a yummy dish to share.
